About Bruce
Bruce Stone is a life long political activist and patriot. He has served in many liberal/progressive volunteer roles over the years as his professional career took him to various locations around the USA and Overseas. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 4 years in the Pacific Fleet. He began his professional career as a professor at the Center for the Study of Data Processing at Washington University in St. Louis Mo, followed by various sales, sales management and executive roles at technology firms including AT&T, SDE Staffing Systems and Computer Task Group. His volunteer work includes working in the Peace and Civil Rights movements from ages 10-16, working with indigent workers in Olongapo City Philippines in the early 1970’s and several years as an Auxiliary Juvenile Probation officer in Memphis, Tennessee working with disadvantaged and troubled adolescents from 1996 thru 2002. Locally, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Progressive Coalition of Central Iowa (PCCI) and is a past member of the Polk County Democratic Party Central Committee. Currently, he is an active member of the Peace and Justice committee for Move-on.org and the Chairperson for the American Liberal Majority Action Committee. His lobbying focus is on economic justice and preservation of civil rights issues.
