About Sonia
Dr. Sonia Steen is a PhD psychologist offering private practice therapy services in the Des Moines area for over 20 years. She is the only professional in this area who specializes exclusively in the treatment of anxiety and stress related conditions. Dr. Sonia was part of a Crisis Intervention Team who assisted during the Columbine, Oklahoma City, and Iowa Flood disasters. Dr. Sonia suffered from crippling anxiety, clinical depression and paralyzing phobias at one time. She made a full recovery and now dedicates her life to helping others to help themselves. She offers individual, family, group counseling and support services as well as corporate stress management training. Dr. Sonia is also a professor of psychosocial studies teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
