Des Moines Local Live!

Outdoor Pursuits, November 23rd, 2009

Thanks for listening in this week! We had a great show in the new RE/MAX Real Estate Concepts Studios. We are also on a new operating system which will also take some getting used to. HOWEVER, at the bottom of this post you will see that we EMBEDDED the show into the post, rather than posting a link, which is easier for you to use when listening to the archived shows. This way is much cooler!

We had a great show tonight with our special guest, long-time outdoor writer and avid outdoorsman, M.D. Johnson

We had a great conversation regarding how important it is to invest in the next generation as they hold the future of our heritage, but as M.D put it, the next generation may not be kids, but whomever wants to learn and build skills as outdoorsmen and women.

M.D.  says that in today’s quickly advancing technological world, it is tough to keep up, but resorting back to the simpilcity of the basics will always produce results.  Even though many of these new “techy” gadgets do have a time and a place, there is great satisfaction that can be attained by being successful while keeping things simple.  Being able to resort back to simple woodsmanship is essential to consistent success.

For some time, M.D. and his wife Julie have been involved in outdoor media for a long time, M.D. does most of the writing and his lovely wife, Julie is a tremendous photographer.  Both have traveled all over conducting seminars and taking advantage the incredible waterfowl opportunities that exist in our great nation.

But I don’t want to give too much away, we had a great time and this is my favorite show thus far!  Thanks M.D.  we will do it again sometime! For more information regarding the work that the Johnsons have produced, please visit M & J Outdoor Communications.
